1st European Conference on Connected and Automated Driving

The European Commission, with the support of the EU-funded projects CARTRE and SCOUT, will be hosting its First European Conference on Connected and Automated Driving in Brussels, Belgium, from 3 to 4 April 2017.
The high-level conference 'Connected and Automated Driving - Together, shaping the future' will provide a unique opportunity for all participants to network and discuss on how to boost the development and deployment of connected and automated driving technologies from a fourfold perspective: transport policy issues; technological challenges; legal and regulatory frame, and digital transformation.
Major road transport stakeholders - automotive and telecom industry, users, road operators, public transport operators, regulators, research centres, universities and representatives of both EC and EU Member States - are invited to attend this event that will see EU leaders, CEOs and representatives from major road transport stakeholders discuss interactively on:

-Role of R&I and policy making to accelerate roll out in Europe;
-
-What's going on in the Member States;
-
-Role of connectivity between vehicles, road infrastructure and other road users to enhance performance;
-
-Progress of C-ITS deployment and how it supports automated driving throughout Europe’s main corridors;

-Latest findings of European-funded projects; and
-
-The importance of international cooperation.

De Gemeenschappelijke Informatiedienst Onderzoek en Ontwikkelingen (CORDIS) houdt zich bezig informatieverstrekking over Europese onderzoeksactiviteiten in het kader van onderzoek en ontwikkeling en het verspreiden van technische kennis en toepassingen binnen de EU.
CORDIS heeft als doel:

-deelname aan Europees onderzoek faciliteren en stimuleren

-het verbeteren van de exploitatie van onderzoeksresultaten in het kader van een competitief Europa (zie ook Zevende Kaderprogramma) i
-
-de praktische toepassing van technologisch onderzoek door bedrijven stimuleren door de verspreiding van kennis
-
-het bevorderen van de verspreiding van technologische kennis om de sociale acceptatie van nieuwe technologie te stimuleren
Dit directoraat-generaal i is verantwoordelijk voor de ontwikkeling en uitvoering van het Europese onderzoek- en innovatiebeleid. Het concurrentievermogen, de groei en de werkgelegenheid in Europa moeten worden verbeterd.
