There are six categories in the European Enterprise Awards:

The Enterprise Support Award will reward innovative policies that promote enterprise and attract investment, particularly in disadvantaged areas.

The Red Tape Reduction Award will reward measures to simplify administrative procedures for businesses, in particular for start-ups.

Achtergrond

Policies that promote entrepreneurship and create a favourable environment for business, in particular small and medium-sized enterprises are crucial if the European Union is to tackle its number one challenge of stimulating economic growth and creating new jobs.

The European Enterprise Awards competition aims to raise awareness of partnership activities between local administrations and businesses, in particular SMEs, and highlight the role of entrepreneurial success in developing Europe’s economy.

2.

Bijeenkomst

The 2007 European Enterprise Award Ceremony will be co-organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enterprise and Industry, the Portuguese Presidency, through IAPMEI - the Portuguese Agency for SMEs and Innovation - and the Committee of the Regions. It will be combined with the Portuguese Presidency’s flagship conference on “SMEs and entrepreneurship – successful local strategies”, bringing together a mosaic of new and inspiring practices and policies from across Europe.

Europese Commissie (EC)
