Building the roadmap for inventing the batteries of the future, Brussel - Hoofdinhoud

The development of sustainable rechargeable batteries is key to reach the goal of a fossil-free society. Participate in the BATTERY 2030+ initiative’s workshop and contribute to the design of the research roadmap for long-term battery research in Europe. European research institutions, industry and public funders are teaming up for a long-term research initiative that will enable Europe to lead science and technology developments to come up with the next generation of ultra-performing, sustainable and safe batteries. As a first step, the BATTERY 2030+ initiative is preparing a research roadmap with the main research areas identified to address the challenges and opportunities to develop the next-generation batteries:

  Accelerated discovery and design of battery materials and interfaces
• - 

  Smart sensing and self-healing functionalities
• - 

  Manufacturability and recyclability

On 20 November in Brussels, BATTERY 2030+ is organising the workshop “Building the roadmap for inventing the batteries of the future” to collect input from academic and industrial stakeholders to the current draft roadmap, which will then be finalised and submitted to the European Commission beginning of 2020.
