The annual congress of the twelve provinces of The Netherlands will be hosted this year by the European Committee of the Regions in Brussels on Friday 12 October 2018.
Theo Bovens, Chairman of the board of the twelve Dutch provinces and King's Commissioner of the Province of Limburg, and Wim van de Donk, Chairman of the board of the House of the Dutch Provinces in Brussels and King's Commissioner of Brabant, will welcome all members of the provincial administrations - both members of the provincial councils and the executives, as well as all the King's Commissioners. Van de Donk is President of the Dutch delegation to the European Committee of the Regions, and Bovens is a member of this delegation.
The added value of cooperation between Europa, the provinces and different businesses/ enterprises will be at the core of the deliberations. Key-note speakers are Vice-President of the European Commission Frans Timmermans and the chair of the Dutch Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers Hans de Boer. After the plenary session, all participants will actively join in six workshops - all inspired by the scope of the respective committees in the CoR.
