Informal Meeting of the EU Political Military Group, in Bucharest

In the context of Romania’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the

informal meeting of the EU Political Military Group was held on 19 and 20 June in Bucharest,

in an event that gathered representatives from the EU Member States, European Commission

and European External Action Service.

The debates have been dedicated to EU - NATO cooperation, with a focus on future

challenges and opportunities in the field of Parallel and Coordinated Exercises (PACE).

Accordingly, the participants had an exchange of views on the current framework of EU -

NATO cooperation, the collaboration in the field of crisis management operations, as well as

on the implementation of the PACE concept in 2017 and 2018 and the various ways for its

improvement.

strengthening the EU - NATO cooperation and also for an increased EU contribution to the

security and defence on the European continen
