De Groep atoomvraagstukken buigt zich over kwesties inzake de bescherming tegen ioniserende straling in medische en industriële toepassingen, de veiligheid van nucleaire installaties en het beheer van verbruikte splijtstof en radioactief afval. Daarnaast behandelt de werkgroep onderwerpen aangaande de levering van en veiligheidscontroles op nucleair materiaal.
