The EU-Armenia Partnership Council took stock of EU-Armenia relations.
Since our first meeting in this format a year ago, the EU-Armenia cooperation has advanced well, with a particular focus on the implementation of our Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement. EU-Armenia relations and cooperation on many important issues will further strengthen, based on our Agreement, on our common interests and on our common values of democracy, rule of law and respect of human rights.

We had a very productive discussion today within the second EU Armenia Partnership Council. We shared ideas on a wide range of issues including political issues, regional issues, and sectoral cooperation, including within the Eastern Partnership. We underscored that our shared partnership is based on shared values and a strong commitment to uphold them. We have mutual aspirations to build strong democracies with sustainable institutions and resilient societies.

The Partnership Council reviewed the implementation of the EU-Armenia Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement as well as the partnership priorities. After the meeting, a joint press statement was issued:
It also reviewed economic, trade and sectoral cooperation, as well as the prospects of launching a visa liberalisation dialogue.
The Partnership Council followed-up on the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership and the implementation of the 2020 deliverables.
High Representative Federica Mogherini and Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan also discussed key political matters, including political dialogue and reform, democracy, rule of law, and human rights. They also discussed the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and regional and international issues.
