How can today's crisis-ridden welfare states avoid past mistakes and learn to sustainably foster the well-being of future generations in ageing societies? This question will be discussed during the book launch of the volume 'The Uses of Social Investment', edited by Anton Hemerijck, co-founder of ACCESS EUROPE.

The volume brings together leading critics and advocates who assess the scholarly evidence on a wide range of social investment experiences. The first copy of the book will be presented to Arjan Vliegenthart on November 3, followed by reflections on the book and theme.
