'Health in the digital society. The digital society for health' is organised by the Estonian Ministry of Social Affairs as part of the Estonian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, in collaboration with ECHAlliance and HIMSS Europe.

The high-level conference will address how digital technologies and the wider use of health data are changing our lives and also methods of healthcare. Through a combination of educational sessions, interactive workshops, and valuable networking opportunities, the conference will not only showcase already existing digital health solutions, but also uses cases and technologies to demonstrate that citizen-centric health services and systems are genuinely valuable.

European healthcare IT leaders and professionals will gather in Tallinn from 16-18 October 2017. The conference will focus on three main topics:

  • building citizen-driven demand in e-health
  • e-health supporting value-driven and sustainable health and social services
  • e-health as a driver of innovation and economic development

Registration

In order to attend the conference, vendors and delegates must use the conference's official portal. Journalists must register using the Estonian Presidency media accreditation page.

There will be a live stream of the event. Videos related to the event are available on our videos page and photos of events can be accessed on our photos page or on our Flickr account.

Session: Digital Health Society Declaration

During the Estonian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Ministry of Social Affairs of Estonia and the ECHAlliance have launched an initiative inviting all stakeholders (policy makers, citizens, researchers, health care providers and professionals, payers, industry and startups) to be part of a same movement, called the 'Digital Health Society' (DHS). The DHS and its Task forces aims to deploy at EU scale and in a cross-border mode, structuring projects to facilitate the free flow of data and the deployment of Digital health.

Ests voorzitterschap Europese Unie 2e helft 2017

Van 1 juli tot en met 31 december 2017 vervulde Estland i het voorzitterschap i van de Raad van de Europese Unie i. Estland was de opvolger van Malta i. Het was de eerste keer dat dit land het voorzitterschap bekleedde. Belangrijke prioriteiten voor Estland waren de interne markt en de digitale interne markt in het bijzonder, de energie-unie en de verdere integratie van Oost-Europese landen in de Europese Unie. Ook wilde Estland tijdens het voorzitterschap online oplossingen en informatievoorziening in het Europees beleid promoten.

Het thema van het Ests voorzitterschap was "Unity through Balance". Er was veel aandacht voor de relatie van de mens met de natuur en voor de uitdagingen en mogelijkheden die nieuwe technologieën met zich meebrengen.
