De raadsformatie i Justitie en Binnenlandse Zaken (JBZ) bestaat uit de ministers van justitie en/of binnenlandse zaken. Deze Raad vergadert meestal om de drie maanden, ook informele bijeenkomsten zijn mogelijk. Namens Nederland sluit doorgaans minister van Justitie en Veiligheid Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius i (VVD) aan.

De Raad Justitie en Binnenlandse Zaken werkt aan samenwerking en gemeenschappelijk beleid inzake grens­overschrijdende aangelegen­heden om zo een Europese ruimte van vrijheid, veiligheid en recht te creëren.
