Over 200 research and non-academic organisations have answered to the Marie Skłodowska-Curie call for proposals on the research staff exchange by the deadline on 24 April. The new Research and Innovation Staff Exchange scheme (RISE) offers €70 million for joint research or innovation projects carried out through staff exchange and networking, whereas the requested EU support amounts some €169 million.

RISE is a new Horizon 2020 funding scheme providing grants to cover secondment of staff between research and business organisations. Projects implemented through this scheme can be in any research area, and staff participating can be of any nationality and at any career stage.

The first RISE call H2020-MSCA-RISE-2014 was launched on 11 December 2013 and closed on 24 April 2014. Evaluation of the research proposals is expected to start on 8 May, with the results announced at the beginning of September 2014. All Grant Agreements are likely to be signed by December 2014.

Evaluators of project proposals are drawn from the European Commission's independent expert database. The Commission is looking to expand the database through a call for experts covering a very broad range of fields. If you fit the profile and would like to be considered for future evaluations, sign up in the Participant Portal.
