The annual Europe House Lecture is organised by the Representation of the European Commission and the Information Bureau of the European Parliament in the Netherlands, and aims to present important and topical European themes by leading individuals.
This year's lecture will be given by Olli Rehn i, Vice-President of the European Commission and responsible for Economic and Monetary Affairs and the Euro. The Europe House Lecture will be Mr Rehn's first public appearance in the Netherlands.
Mr Rehn will be introduced by Wouter Bos i, partner at KPMG and former Dutch Minister of Finance/Deputy Prime Minister. The lecture will be moderated by Adriaan Schout, Institute Clingendael, the leading think tank on international affairs.

Als vertegenwoordiging van Brussel heeft deze instelling twee kerntaken: pers- en publieksvoorlichting en het rapporteren van gebeurtenissen in Nederland aan Brussel. Daarnaast onderhoudt de Vertegenwoordiging diplomatieke relaties met onder andere ambassades en ministeries in Nederland.
Het communiceren van de Europese boodschap naar de Nederlander gebeurt op verschillende manieren. Medewerkers beantwoorden bijvoorbeeld vragen en geven workshops of lezingen door het land. Ook organiseert en subsidieert de Vertegenwoordiging nationale en lokale projecten.
