Contents
De raadsformatie i Economische en Financiële Zaken (ECOFIN) bestaat uit de ministers (of staatssecretarissen) van economische zaken en/of financiën. Deze raad vergadert formeel één keer per maand, ook informele bijeenkomsten zijn mogelijk. Namens Nederland sluit doorgaans minister van Financiën Steven van Weyenberg i (D66) aan.
De Raad Economische en Financiële Zaken is verantwoordelijk voor het EU-beleid op drie grote gebieden: economisch beleid, belastingvraagstukken en regelgeving inzake financiële diensten. De dag voorafgaand aan de ECOFIN-bijeenkomst komt gewoonlijk de Eurogroep i bijeen.
