FRA and the Committee of the Regions’ Commission for Citizenship, Governance, Institutional & External Affairs (CIVEX) will hold their annual dialogue on 9 December in Brussels.

As the EU celebrates the 10-year anniversary of its Fundamental Rights Charter, the event will reflect on the Charter’s contribution and raise awareness on the potential for cities and local governments to make use of the Charter.

The panel discussion will bring together FRA, the City of Vienna and the Human Rights Cities Network. They will discuss and illustrate with concrete practices, such as the human rights cities initiative, how the Charter and fundamental rights can improve the life of people and help cities and regions to address the fundamental rights challenges they face.

The annual dialogue is a well-established practice since 2009. It provides an opportunity to discuss fundamental rights issues of relevance at the regional and local level while sharing knowledge on existing good practices.
