The S&D Group is organising a high-level event together with Serbian opposition. The goal of the event is to give the representatives of the opposition a chance to explain the difficult situation they are facing in Serbia ahead of the parliamentary elections that are due to be held in the Spring of next year.
The participants are all from the opposition Alliance for Serbia, which includes S&Ds sister party, the Democratic Party (DS) in Serbia. The event takes place in English. Everybody is welcome to participate.

De Progressieve Alliantie van Socialisten en Democraten (S&D) is de sociaaldemocratische fractie in het Europees Parlement i. De fractie is ontstaan als een alliantie tussen de Partij van de Europese Sociaal-Democraten i (PES) en de Italiaanse Democratische Partij.
De fractie van de Progressieve Alliantie van Socialisten en Democraten (S&D) heeft 141 leden afkomstig uit 26 lidstaten, en is daarmee de op een na grootste fractie in het Europees Parlement. Op het hoogtepunt in 1999 hadden de Sociaal Democraten 233 zetels in het Europees Parlement.
