On 24 and 25 October, the European Judicial Training Network (EJTN) came together for a conference in the Festsaal of the Federal Ministry of Constitutional Affairs, Reforms, Deregulation and Justice. EJTN is an association responsible for providing joint training to the European judiciary. It was founded in 2000 by the EU member state bodies in charge of providing judicial training to judges and prosecutors - one of these institutions being the Federal Ministry of Constitutional Affairs, Reforms, Deregulation and Justice.

The EJTN’s training programme aims to give candidate judges, judges and prosecutors increased specialist knowledge of EU law and the national legislation of other member states. A further aim is to strengthen mutual trust between the judiciaries of the member states in order to promote cooperation between national judicial authorities.

The directors and judicial trainers discussed and developed the key features of the Draft Strategic Plan of the EJTN members for the 2017‑2021 period. The aim of the conference was to finalise the Draft Strategic Plan, which will adopted by the General Assembly of EJTN in June 2019.
