Deze parlementaire commissie i houdt zich bezig met de ontwikkeling van een gemeenschappelijk beleid voor het vervoer per spoor, over de weg, over binnenwateren, over zee en door de lucht. Daarnaast is de commissie ook bevoegd voor postdiensten en toerisme.
De commissie telt 49 leden. De grootste uitdaging voor deze commissie is de aanpassing van de vervoerssector aan de klimaatdoelen maar ook digitalisering en het gebruik van kunstmatige intelligentie krijgen steeds meer aandacht.
