European Commission and African Union Commission conclude 8th Meeting - Hoofdinhoud

The European Commission and the African Union Commission concluded the 8th College-to-College meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on 7 April 2016. They agreed a Joint Communiqué setting out key areas of cooperation and common challenges.

The European Commission and the African Union Commission concluded the 8^th College-to-College meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The biggest EU-Africa political meeting of the year took place on the 7 April 2016. The event was hosted by the African Union Commission under the co-chairmanship of its Chairperson Dr Nkosazana Clarice Dlamini-Zuma and the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy/Vice-President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini i.

The College-to-College meeting was also attended by Commissioners Vice-President for the Digital Single Market, Andrus Ansip i, Vice-President responsible for the Euro and Social Dialogue, Valdis Dombrovskis i, Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development, Neven Mimica i, Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs, Skills and Labour Mobility, Marianne Thyssen i, Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, Christos Stylianides i and Commissioner for Transport, Violeta Bulc i.

Concluding the meeting, the Commission and the African Union agreed on a Joint Communiqué setting out joint areas of cooperation and common challenges such as migration, peace and security, strengthening human rights, democracy and good governance, human development, sustainable and inclusive development, as well as global and emerging issues.
