Background information

The European Parliament and the University of Leiden present a lecture of Tom de Bruijn on Wednesday the 12th of March at the Europe House in The Hague. Tom de Bruijn, currently member of the Dutch State Council (advisory body to the Dutch government), will speak about his own experience as the Permanent Representative of the Netherlands at the EU. While serving the Netherlands, Tom de Bruijn experienced important European topics from close by such as: the Dutch no-vote on the European Constitution in 2005, the functioning of the European Internal Market and the EU enlargement with 10 new EU Member States.

Practical information

The lecture will be held at the 12th of March at 16:00 till 17:15 at the Europe House in The Hague (Korte Vijverberg 6).

In elk van de lidstaten heeft het Europees Parlement i minstens één bureau. Voor Nederland is dat het Europees Parlement Liaisonbureau in Nederland. Grote landen als Frankrijk, Duitsland, Spanje hebben meerdere bureaus.

Het bureau bevindt zich aan de Korte Vijverberg in Den Haag. Het pand - het Huis van Europa i - wordt gedeeld met de Vertegenwoordiging van de Europese Commissie i.
