Conferences and Expert Meetings

The event will be organised, speakers coordinated and Slovenian experience presented, on behalf of Slovenia, by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia and guests. The expert part of the consultation will take the form of presentations of the activities of working groups and exchanges of experience in introducing new solutions in the field of electronic archiving and access to documents in diplomatic archives. A progress report will be presented on the creation of a database on European integration and a database of personal files of political figures. The cultural event incorporated into the conference will be dedicated to the inauguration of an exhibition surveying cooperation between Slovenia and France, spanning a period from the era of the Illyrian Provinces up to the present day, as represented by a chronological sequence of documents. Lectures by Slovenian experts will focus on presenting events from Slovenia’s recent history, from the decision in favour of a new country to Slovenia’s joining the European Union. With this final event of Slovenia’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union, Slovenian archivists will symbolically handing over to the French.
