Subcommittee on Public Health - Main contents

The Subcommittee on Public Health deals with public health, cosmetic and pharmaceutical products, the prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases, health aspects of bioterrorism, cross-border health threats, the European Medicines Agency, and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control. The subcommittee does not have legislative power.

The establishment of the subcommittee in 2023 is meant as a step towards the full realization of the European Health Union.

The subcommittee comprises 30 members. It is a subcommittee of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI).
