The JRC, in collaboration with DG AGRI and the Czech Republic Paying Agency for Agriculture (SZIF), organises the 25th MARS Conference in Prague on 26, 27 and 28 November 2019.

The annual conference provides a platform to present and discuss Member States’ experiences and general observations regarding the Integrated Administration and Control System (IACS), including developments in shared management of EU farmers’ dossiers.

This year it will be the 25th edition and therefore agenda will take into account this milestone.

Addressing the challenges ahead requires that our community shares solutions and practices and that each paying agency recombines the components to accommodate its individual conditions and priorities.

Agenda

We received numerous proposals for presentations, pecha kucha talks, posters and marked stands. As a result of this broad response, Tuesday afternoon is completely dedicated to the technical interaction via pecha kucha, poster or market stand.

European Commission (EC)

The European Commission is the executive body of the EU and runs its day-to-day business. It is made up of the College of Commissioners, 27 European Commissioners, one for each member state, who are each responsible for one or several policy areas. In addition, the 'Commission' also refers to the entire administrative body that supports the Commissioners, consisting of the Directorates-General and the Services.

The European Commission is the sole EU body capable of proposing new legislation. The Commission also performs an oversight function, monitoring whether European legislation is properly implemented in the member states. In the event of non-compliance, the Commission can coerce a member state to comply by starting a legal procedure at the European Court of Justice.
