From 24 to 25 September, the Council Working Party on Human Rights (COHOM) will hold an informal meeting in Vienna.

During the first day, the FRA Director will speak on the Sustainable Development Goals and human rights. Stressing that the Union has hardwired human rights into its Treaties, core legislation and concrete policy commitments, the Director will underline the need for the EU to continue its efforts to champion a rights-based approach to sustainable development both within the EU and in its relations with non-EU countries.

Other speakers include the Austrian Development Agency, the chair of the EU Council Working Party on the Agenda 2030 and the Danish Institute for Human Rights. The next day, COHOM will hold its meeting at the premises of the Fundamental Rights Forum. COHOM delegates are also invited to participate in the opening and the programme of the Forum.
